Kiernan Ironclaw has never met a bad idea that she didn’t like — bad boyfriends, worse schemes, and broken hearts made up the soundtrack of her life. But when her latest bad decision lands her in jail (…again), Kiernan finally gives in to her parent’s request for her to return to their magical hometown of Indigo Cove before her first dragon’s heat happens on Halloween.

The heat can make even the most sensible of dragons lose control, and Kiernan has never been accused of being sensible in her life. Fearing her parents are right to be worried, Kiernan agrees to come home in the hope that between the town’s powerful wards and her dragon community she can keep the reckless side effects of the heat at bay.

Of course, then she meets Max and her tenuous self control is stretched thin. Falling for another dragon, especially the loner professor who drives her wild, is one bad decision she refuses to let herself make. If only Max could stop making it so damn hard to resist his charms.
